In addition to regular demo derby rules these changes may be made for the Pro Modified Class.
Any American made hard top 108? wheelbase or longer, no hearses, ambulances or checker cabs.
VEHICLE PREPARATION:
Remove all glass, chrome, plastic moldings, headliner, dash & flammable material, AC coolant, antifreeze, trailer hitches and interior decking.
Gas tanks must be moved to rear seat area. The tank must be secured, safe and covered. Maximum 8 gallons of gas. Fuel lines can be steel or rubber, no plastic lines and fuel lines must be shielded. Gas tanks must be secure with no movement. Do not bungee cord. If tank has movement you will not run.
Electric fuel pump allowed but switch must be clearly marked on-off.
No more than (2) batteries allowed, which must be relocated to front passenger floor, secured and covered.
Floor shifter allowed. Ignition and wiring modifications (hot-wire) allowed.
Hood must have 12 x 12 minimum hole to easily extinguish fires. Extra hole(s) in hood not required if you have at least 12 x 12 header holes.
ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN:
Any engine, transmission, rear end combination may be used. Engine must be within 5 inches of original position. Engine components may be modified (fan blades, header pipes, etc). Transmission cooler allowed, must be secure and safe. If mounted in rear seat area, must have hole cut in floor beneath it for drain. Motor mount may be modified to better hold engine in place, but not strengthen car. Engine may be welded or chained down with braces or chains that cannot extend more that 12 inches from engine. Four places max. Distributor protectors allowed. Radiator must be in stock position. Radiator guards allowed provided they are no thicker than 1/4 inch and are connected only to the radiator and the sheet metal. They may not connect to the frame or bumper the must be bolted or wired in place. No welding. Rear end must be a max of 5 lug automotive type. Rear end may be welded or spooled. Rear end must be in stock location and cannot be run upside down.
SUSPENSION:
No extra weights, no weld on shocks, no trailer hitches, special lifts, blocks, air lifts and air shocks must be deflated. No stiff suspension, car must have give and bounce.
OLD IRON LEAF FIXING OR REPLACEMENT
6 leafs max, 2 1/2 inches wide, 2 inch stagger, longest spring 5 ft., no thicker than 5/16, 4 clamps per side, must be mounted as factory leafs would be, wagons must be done to factory.
LEAF SPRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Converting coil springs to leafs is allowed but you must follow these rules. Springs must have at least a 2 inch stagger, no more than 4 clamps per side, no more than 6 springs per side (car springs only). Springs must be no more than 2 ? inches wide, longest spring must be no longer than 5 foot. Thickness no more than 5/16 inch wrench.
LEAF SPRING MOUNTING:
Front spring must use factory suspension hole (trailing arm hole). Reinforcement of this hole must not exceed 3 inches of center of this hole and must be done on outside of frame only and using metal no thicker than the frame. Any reinforcement found on inside of frame, will be cause for immediate disqualification. No reinforcement for leaf spring hanging. Washers no bigger than 4 inches, outside bracket no longer than 6 inches total. No welding except for what it takes to mount the brackets. This conversion must be as close as possible to OEM style mounting. Example: mid 70s style, GM wagons, and Chryslers. If official finds you went beyond how factory leaf springs are mounted on factory leaf cars you will not be allowed to participate. NO FLAT SPRUNG CARS. Hump plates allowed 22 inches long by 5/16 inch thick. Must be centered on the hump and contoured to frame on outside only. No hump plating any leaf cars.

Leaf spring cars may run a single chain from frame rail to frame rail, this is to keep frame humps from spreading outward.
FRAME, BODY AND BUMPERS:
Welding on frames is allowed from the A-arm forward, top seam only, do not exceed 1/2 inch weld. You can weld 12 inch max behind A-arm and no further back, not to exceed 1/2 inch weld. No added metal or filler. Do not reinforce frame. On cars with damaged frames or rusted frames you must patch. Repair can not exceed 1inch past rust or damage, frame repair metal can not be more than 1/4 inch. Repairs can only be made on two of the four sides of the frame. Paint all repairs bright color for identification. Bolting or pinning of frame is not allowed. Frames will be scoped. Rear frames behind axle only that are factory c channel can be boxed in with the same thickness or less steel. The center c channel frame can not be boxed in. Do not undercoat, paint or put any substance around the frame.
Body seam welding, bolting or screwing is allowed. Body repair due to damage or rust is allowed. Repair con not exceed 3 inches past rust or damage. Body repair metal can not be thicker than 1/8 inch. Firewall floor pan (for shifter), wheel wells and fenders may be trimmed. All doors and wagon gates must be chained, wired, or welded shut. All doors except wagon gates may be welded solid. You can weld inside of doors solid, you may use a 3 inch strap for this, wagon gates may weld 4 three inch plates or bolt four places with 3/4 inch max bolts and washers no bigger than 4 inches outside diameter. Drivers door can have one bar attached 3 inches past back of door, and 3 inches past front of door.
HOODS:
If hoods are removed or fan blades are showing, fan blade must be removed, electric fans ok. You may use four threaded rods no bigger than 3/4 inches with a washer no bigger than 6 inches in diameter. Only two may go through the frame. (THESE TWO MUST BE OUTSIDE RADIATOR SUPPORT), none in front of radiator. No welding on hoods, they must open for inspection. You may use 3/8 inch bolts with washers no larger than 1 inch outside diameter around header holes, fire holes, no more than 20 bolts for this.
TRUNKS:
You can use four ? inch threaded rod with washer not larger than 6 inches outside diameter around lip of trunk lid or 10 1 inch welds around trunk lid. If you dont bolt, you may weld trunk lid, weld 6 inches, and leave 6 inches, 3 inch strap max. 12 x 12 inch inspection hole required in trunk. Tucking of trunk allowed. No wedging and one trunk lid per car. No homemade body seams and no adding of skins, except for patching. No other body seam welding except what is stated in rules. No seam welding inside of car except doors.
FENDERS:
you may trim fenders, bolt fenders, 10 bolts with no bolts bigger than 3/8 inch, with washers no bigger than 1inch outside diameter.
BUMPERS:
bumpers and brackets may be interchanged from makes/model years, but must be automobile bumpers, no truck bumpers. Homemade brackets allowed but can not be longer or thicker than stock brackets. Bumpers, shocks and brackets may be welded, bolted and chained/wired. Two pieces of 4 inch by 12 inch by 1/4inch metal may be welded or bolted to hold the bumper on. Bumpers may be trimmed but no sharp edges. There must be an inspection hole at each end of the bumper. Dash bar and seat bars allowed for driver safety, bars may connect to each other with door bars and may be connected to the floor. Bars may not be welded to the frame. Bars may not extend past the fire wall; they may not extend to the rear any further than the front most part of the rear wheel well tubs. Halo bars are allowed but they must remain in the safety cage area. Hard top cars (no post) must have straps or chains from door to roof in door post ad or passenger area. There must be two bars or chains in the center area of the windshield from roof to dash area to prevent hood from coming in.
TIRES:
Any DOT tires up to 16 inches allowed. May run tire inside of tire. Wheel weights must be removed, no screws may be used, and valve stem protectors are allowed. Max height from ground to bottom of bumper 22 inches and no lower than 18 inches.
A-ARM/TIE ROD/BALL JOINTS:
A-arms must be stock. Tie rod ends must be factory OEM. Turn buckle may be reinforced with sleeve. Tie rods only no HEIM JOINTS. You may weld in ball joints with the sole purpose of retaining ball joints in factory position.
BODY MOUNT BOLTS:
Body mount rubbers may be removed, mount bolts may be replaced with 3/4 inch. You may add two extra body mount bolts anywhere you want, but do not exceed this. If extra body mount bolts are horizontal, they can not be longer than 7 inches. Bottom body mount washers must be inside frame.
All other safety related rules apply. NOTE: DOT helmets mandatory, any driver using an open face helmet will not be covered by insurance if a facial injury occurs, safety glasses or shield recommended.
If you reinforce anything other than what is stated in these rules, it can be considered illegal and you will not run. Officials decision is final. Winning cars will be inspected, frames will be scoped and if it is found to be illegal you will forfeit the win.
